Dr. Anthony Fesmire was my first and only guitar teacher. When I first enrolled into music courses at community college he essentially was the music program. I had been playing guitar for nearly 10 years before I started my music academia venture at College of the Desert in 2008. The Doc always had a very calm demeanor and approach to teaching music. He prepared me for my undergrad so well that when I got to Humboldt State I became their guitar player in the Jazz Orchestra for 3 semesters. I tested in to Music Theory 3 because of the music courses at COD. I attribute a lot of my success to his guidance. I am now a full time music teacher at a middle school in Humboldt County.
